LINCOLN COUNTY TENNEESSEE

Welcome from County Mayor Bill Newman

Greetings from Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee. I am Bill Newman, the mayor of this wonderful county in southern middle Tennessee. Our county is 570 square miles of southern hospitality, from our viable, attractive historic downtown square to our scenic country side, you will be amazed at what Lincoln County has to offer.

We are a very diversified county with agriculture being our largest industry. Lincoln County is one of the top producers of fine cattle in the state. Our agriculture sales include soybeans, corn, hay, wheat, cotton, nursery products, poultry, and vegetables. We are fortunate to be home to the largest HVAC manufacturer in the nation. Manufacturers of bimetallic wire, automotive parts, snack foods, stainless steel kitchen equipment, fiberglass swimming pools, wood pallets and yes two (2) distilleries are local employers of our dedicated work force.

The Lincoln County Fair, is one of the most decorated and recognized fairs in Tennessee. There is no better place to enjoy the variety of entertainment and displays of agricultural products than our county fair. We are the only county fair in Tennessee that has harness racing.

Education is important to our residents. Lincoln County is home to a college and technology center. Our three (3) school systems (2 public, 1 private Christian) have great traditions of excellence in the classroom and on the playing field.

Lincoln County is the home to numerous historical landmarks. Camp Blount is one of the few historic sites in Tennessee associated with the War of 1812. History is one of our best subjects, right there next to hospitality.

Our town square is a destination for those that love antiques and good food. The Lincoln County Courthouse sits in the middle of the Square and I would like for you to come and visit me. Whether it's for a day or the rest of your life, Lincoln County will find a special place in your heart.
